Portrait Studio

Pure Portraits are some of my favorite sessions to offer. These studio sessions are intentionally simple—just your child, natural light, and a clean backdrop in black, white, or soft color. No props, no distractions, and only 10 minutes per child, allowing their expressions and personality to take center stage.

In these quiet, focused sessions, I capture the subtle moments that make your child who they are—the thoughtful gaze, the burst of laughter, the shy tilt of the head. The result is timeless, honest portraits that feel more like art than photographs.

If you’re in Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, or Irvine and looking for a minimalist, meaningful portrait experience, Pure Portraits may be the perfect fit. These sessions are offered only a few times a year and tend to book quickly, so be sure to reserve your spot early.

So how does everything work?

1 - Keep an eye out!

Pure Portrait sessions happen about 8 times throughout the year in my Portrait Studio in Newport Beach, CA. Keep your eye out on Instagram or contact me to join my mailing list so you know when dates are available.

2 - On your session day

My Pure Portrait sessions take place in my portrait studio in Orange County. Sessions are 10 minutes long and are for 1 child at a time. When you arrive, we will put on your kiddos favorite music and have some laughs as we start shooting.

3 - After your session

About two weeks after your session, you’ll receive an email with a link to your proof gallery. From there, you can purchase your images right off the proofing site. I’ll then add your selections to my retouch queue, and once your images are fully edited, I’ll send you a final gallery. If you’ve ordered prints, they’ll be ready for pickup 2–3 weeks after your final gallery is delivered.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long are the sessions?

Pure Portrait sessions are 10 minutes. I know you may be thinking that there is no way to capture your child in this short amount of time but honestly, its more time than I actually need. I shoot fast and

What if my child acts crazy?

If your child acts crazy during the session or won't sit still then guess what... you have a normal child! I encourage kids to act like kids in my studio. I believe this produces the best photos. We want their personality to come through.

This isn't my first rodeo. I have 3 kids of my own and I have been photographing kids for years. I have tons of tricks up my sleeve to have fun and capture the shots we need.

What I ask is that parents don't coach from the sidelines. Its just like soccer where you should let the coach do the coaching.

I do bribe with candy and prizes at the end of the session however, I will always check with you first. No peanuts of course!

Can I have both my kids in one session?

Unfortunately, its only for one kid at a time. The sessions are just long enough to capture one child at a time.

Can you do family shots at the pure portrait sessions?

These sessions are done on a small black background so there isn't enough room for a family. However, if you book a family session in studio we can use a bigger backdrop to get the same result.
